I've started this site as a way to share my writing about grief following the death of my sister, Anna. Everyone knows that grief is a triple hijueputa, but knowing this does not make you immune to grief, nor does it necessarily make it any easier to navigate. One of the many ways that Anna and I connected was through our shared analysis of texts - books, movies, and television. While analysis of symbolism and literary devices was something I learned to do from her and from school, Anna existed in metaphors as if they were as common as water that we drink sometimes submerge ourselves in. So it feels fitting for me to use our texts to help me grapple with the massive chasms her absence has left in my heart.
